November 25 :
On November 22nd, at Maryland's Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Association of Indian American Minorities (AIAM) was officially formed as a non-governmental organization. The group's stated mission is to advocate for the betterment of America's Indian minority populations. People from many different minority groups within the Indian American diaspora showed up to the launch.

The official announcement states that the founder and chairman of AIAM would be Jasdip Singh, a Sikh philanthropist and businessman. On the board of directors, he will have seven fellow Indian American leaders representing different segments of the Indian diaspora. The following individuals are part of the group: Sikh Baljinder Singh and Dr. Sukhpal Dhanoa; Christian Pawan Bezwada and Elisha Pulivarti; Hindu Dipak Thakker; Muslim Juned Qazi; and Indian Jewish Nissim Reuben.

While Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was absent, the organization and Washington Adventist University honored him with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Global Peace Award for Minority Upliftment at the event. Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Jasdeep S. Chandhok, a member of the Indian Minorities Federation, and Satnam Singh Sandhu, a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Some members of the minority community have spoken well of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a "icon of India’s constitutional commitment to secularism." They say that since Modi took office, India has become more prominent internationally, and Indians living abroad are more proud of their history. "The country is more united than ever before, and PM Modi has fostered an atmosphere for peaceful coexistence, so all communities can live in communal harmony," they expanded.

According to Jasdip Singh, who spoke at the event, the Indian Minority Diaspora would play a key role in helping Prime Minister Modi achieve his goal of creating a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047. In the last decade, Prime Minister Modi has grown into a formidable international leader. The focus of the New India led by Prime Minister Modi is on providing equal opportunity to all Indians, regardless of their religion, sect, or caste.

According to Satnam Singh Sandhu, who emphasized the government's slogan of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, which conveys a message of an inclusive India, Prime Minister Modi has launched programs and projects to help minority groups in India without prejudice.

As far as members of India's diaspora are concerned, the past ten years have demonstrated that, despite attempts to sow sectarian strife among India's minority groups, India remains unified in its diversity. Their argument was that India's minority communities are secure from the hands of those who are anti-social and anti-India and who want to undermine the country's reputation and development efforts.
