Heavy rain continues in Tamil Nadu. In view of the heavy rainfall, holidays have been declared for schools in 24 districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Tirunelveli is submerged in heavy rain. Water has entered even the bus stand. Widespread damage has occurred in the Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts. Trees have been uprooted and electricity poles have been knocked down. Many houses in these areas have been flooded. Household items, including belongings, have been destroyed.

In Nagapattinam, a 13-year-old boy died as the wall of a house collapsed. The deceased was Kaviyazhan, an eighth-grade student. Kaviyazhan's father, mother, and sister are injured and receiving treatment in the hospital. According to unofficial reports, 16 people have died in various incidents across the state today. Chennai is largely isolated from the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
