The maximum possible punishment that can be given to the accused in the absence of the death penalty has been imposed. In addition, the accused was sentenced to six years for house trespassing under Section 449, two years for threatening people, and three months under the Arms Act. The sentence of eight years and three months must be served first. The sentences should be served one after the other. Only after that should the double life imprisonment be served. In addition to this, a fine of ₹20 lakh has been imposed. Public Prosecutor T.S. Ajayan said that the court has directed that the amount be given to Ranju and Ranju's four minor children, and that the prosecution is fully satisfied with the verdict.
