The fraud syndicates operate mainly focusing on countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam . They lure job seekers into their trap by posting ads on social media for positions such as Digital Sales and Marketing Executives or Customer Support Service, often through agents.
These individuals trap victims by offering high salaries for jobs such as telecaller, data entry, along with hotel bookings, return air tickets, visa facilities, and other benefits . Groups operating in Southeast Asian countries target such individuals for cybercrimes.
The fraud syndicates operate focusing on countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam . Job fraud is being carried out in the names of fake companies involved in call centers, cryptocurrency, banking, stock market, honeytraps, and online scams. The victims are illegally trafficked from Thailand across borders and brought to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos, as well as neighboring countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam, where they are held captive and forced to engage in illegal activities both online and over the phone."
