Human trafficking to Canada on student visas; massive racket; 35,000 people trafficked, says ED

It has been found that a major racket is operating behind bringing Indians to Canada on student visas and illegally smuggling them into the US from there. The ED has found that there is an international syndicate of human traffickers involving 260 colleges in Canada . They promise to take Indian citizens to the US via Canada using student visas. For this, they charge between 5.5 to 6 million rupees . "It has been found that around 1,700 agents in Gujarat and approximately 3,500 people across India are involved in this racket. More than 800 people are currently active in connection with human trafficking . Through the investigation, the ED has freezed bank deposits worth 1.9 million rupees, seized two vehicles, and discovered incriminating documents and digital devices. Once the applicants reach Canada, instead of joining colleges, they cross the US-Canada border. Later, the fees paid to the colleges are credited to the individuals' accounts, according to the ED .
