Two lives were lost as ambulances got stuck in the traffic congestion in Kozhikode

Two lives were lost due to traffic congestion. Sulaikha from Edarikode, Malappuram, and Shajeel Kumar from Vallikkunnu are the deceased. Near Ramanattukara in Kozhikode, ambulances got stuck on the road near Kakancheri. For about half an hour, the ambulances, with patients onboard, were stuck in the traffic jam. There were two patients in the ambulance who required emergency treatment. The ambulance got stuck for about half an hour because the road was filled with vehicles, making it impossible for the ambulance to move forward .

In the incident, Sulaikha, who died, was being transported from a private hospital in Kottayam to a private hospital in Kozhikode when the ambulance got stuck in the block. Ambulance drivers say that normally, it takes only forty minutes to travel from here. Shajeel Kumar from Vallikkunnu was being transported from a private hospital in Chelari to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital when the ambulance got stuck in the block. Later, both patients were taken to a private hospital in Farook, but they passed away.

The incident took place near Kakancheri, close to Chelambra. The works on the national highway are being carried out on one side of the road. The completed sections have been opened for traffic. The report states that if medical assistance had been provided to the patients earlier, their lives could have been saved .
