West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has criticized the Border Security Force (BSF). She alleged that the central government is engaged in a conspiracy to destabilize Bengal and claimed that, as part of this, the BSF is facilitating the entry of Bangladeshi infiltrators into the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had stated that the reason infiltrators roam freely in Bengal is due to the Trinamool government and that this is disrupting the state's peace. Provoked by this, Mamata Banerjee criticized the BSF in her response.

Infiltrators are entering through the border areas of Sitai and Chopra with the help of the BSF in Islampur. Why is there no protest against this? Isn’t the responsibility of border security in the hands of the BSF? Do not harass the Trinamool Congress by supporting the wrongful actions of the Border Security Force," said Mamata Banerjee.
