OYO changes check-in policy; no more rooms for unmarried couples!

OYO management has made a complete change to its check-in policy. Unmarried couples will no longer be able to book a room or check-in without providing proof of their relationship with the accompanying person. Simply put, no entry for unmarried couples. OYO, the travel booking company, has announced that the new policy will come into effect starting this year. The main change is that guests will now need to provide valid documents proving they are married at the time of check-in.

Pawass Sharma, OYO's Regional Head for North India, stated that the new changes aim to provide a secure and responsible service. "If the required documents are not provided, hotels have the authority to deny check-in. OYO is committed to ensuring that customers receive a safe service. "OYO respects the personal freedom of citizens. However, we also have the responsibility to adhere to guidelines set by law enforcement and civil society groups. Hotels that promote unethical activities will be blacklisted. We will also take action against hotels operating illegally under the OYO brand," explained Pawass Sharma.

Currently, this policy is in effect in Meerut. The management has announced that it will be extended to other cities in the coming days.
