Applications Open for Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso’s FY26 Capital Funding
BROOKLYN, NY January 9, 2025 –
Applications are now open for Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso’s Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Funding. The New York City Charter allows all five Borough Presidents to allocate capital funding to qualified projects on an annual basis as part of the City’s budget process. These funds are used to make improvements across the borough by creating new infrastructure and upgrading existing assets. Capital funding can be allocated to parks, streets, schools, hospitals, economic development and affordable housing projects, cultural institutions, and other nonprofit organizations.
“Capital funding is an engine of transformation in our city, one that enables city agencies, schools, nonprofits, and other organizations to make the physical improvements necessary to continue to serve residents,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. “The applications we receive help us understand Brooklyn’s priorities and needs. In my first year, we made historic investments in Brooklyn’s public hospitals to address the maternal mortality crisis in our borough, and in the years since, we’ve spread that love and support to parks, schools, and so many other great projects all across Brooklyn. If you or anyone you know has a project that might be eligible for capital funding, now is the time to see what the Office of the Borough President can do for you.”
The New York City Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issues guidelines that restrict the types of projects to which capital funding can be allocated, as well as the types of organizations to which capital funding can be allocated. All questions about Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso’s capital budget or discretionary capital funding program should be directed to Astrid Cuas, Director of Capital Expense & Budget, [email protected]
