The thief who "slept off"; when he woke up, the police were surrounding the bed.

The thief who "slept off." Sleep is essential for health. However, in this case, sleep turned into the villain as it ruined the thief's plan. Ajay Mehta, an interstate thief from Mumbai, was caught by the Chengannur police the other day. The thief, who broke into an empty house in Alappuzha, stole items and then stayed in the same house, woke up after a peaceful sleep to find a large police team surrounding him. Finally, he tried to run away, but was caught by the police after a chase.

Subsequently, several theft cases began to unravel. Ajay, who had been in Kerala for the past few days, was unexpectedly caught by the police. The thief comfortably stayed in an uninhabited house near the municipality, and it was only when the homeowner's brother came to water the plants that the thief was discovered. Suspecting something was amiss inside the house, he informed the police.

When he was brought to the station and questioned in detail, the thief admitted to his crime. From his bag, the police found tools used for cutting, including an iron rod, a machete, and other deadly weapons. During a subsequent search, stolen items that had been buried in various locations were also discovered.
