The Muthanga elephant camp captured the baby elephant that was abandoned by the herd.

The mother didn’t come, and neither did the companions. The Muthanga elephant camp captured the baby elephant. Last Friday, the young elephant ventured into the residential area of Kattikkulam Mullan Kolla. The RRT tried to catch the baby elephant and return it to the herd, but the herd went into the forest without the baby elephant.
A one-year-old baby elephant, injured in a leopard attack, was the one that ventured into the residential area. When the mother elephant did not arrive in search of the baby, the elephant was captured under the leadership of the veterinary team and moved to the Muthanga elephant camp. The decision was made to provide proper treatment to the baby and raise it at the elephant camp.
