Sarojini (51) from the Uchakulam Colony in Edakkara Muthettam lost her life in an elephant attack while she was out to herd the goats. This incident took place in the Nilambur Karulai forest area, where the colony is located.
This morning, Sarojini, her husband Kariyan, and their group went into the forest to herd the goats. Unexpectedly, a herd of elephants attacked. The group scattered in panic, and during the chaos, Sarojini ended up in front of the elephants. The elephants attacked them using their tusks. During the attack, Sarojini sustained severe injuries, including damage to her internal organs. She died on the spot. The incident occurred just 500 meters away from their home.
