Gopan Swami's tomb will be exhumed and examined tomorrow; the district administration has informed the decision.

In the Neyyattinkara Gopan Swami burial case, it has finally been decided to exhume the tomb. The slab covering Gopan Swami's burial site will be removed, and an examination will be conducted tomorrow. The decision to open the tomb was taken by the district administration following a directive from the High Court. The proceedings will take place in the presence of the Sub-Collector. Additionally, public access within a 200-meter radius of the tomb will be restricted.

Meanwhile, the High Court today dismissed the family's petition against exhuming the tomb. The court also sought Gopan Swami's death certificate and stated that if it is confirmed to be a natural death, the family's request will be considered. The High Court clarified that if there is no death certificate, it will have to be considered an unnatural death, and an investigation cannot be avoided. The court stated that opening the tomb is part of the investigation and that the police have the authority to register an FIR and open the tomb.
