Renjini RamachandranA complaint has been filed stating that a needle was found in a capsule given to a patient with a lung disease at a taluk hospital. The small needle was found inside the capsule distributed by the pharmacy of the Vithura Taluk Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
Vasanta, a resident of Memala Urulukunnu, sought treatment for a respiratory illness at Vithura Taluk Hospital on Wednesday evening. The medication prescribed by the doctor was obtained from the hospital's own pharmacy. The needle was found inside a C-Mox tablet. It was only after two days of taking the capsule that Vasanta discovered the capsule containing the needle.
Following this, Vasanta informed the Panchayat authorities and Health Services officials. The capsule containing the needle will undergo a detailed examination, and an investigation will be conducted, including holding the pharmaceutical company that produced the tablet accountable, as stated by the Director of the Health Department.
