Threats from upper-caste members; 400 police personnel deployed to guard a young man's wedding procession

The groom rode on horseback for the wedding procession under the protection of 400 police personnel. The incident took place in Lavera village, Srinagar block, Ajmer district, Uttar Pradesh. The wedding of Mohan Bakolia's son Lokesh and Aruna was held on January 21.On that day, during the baraat procession to the bride's house, the upper castes opposed the groom, who belonged to a Scheduled Caste, riding on horseback

Following this, the family lodged a complaint with the police, and security arrangements were made at the request of the bride's father. Subsequently, the groom carried out the procession under the protection of 400 police personnel . However, nothing unusual occurred, and the deployment of police personnel was part of precautionary measures, a senior official said.
