Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken action against 18 employees for violating the institution's policy of adhering to Hindu traditions. The employees are accused of engaging in non-Hindu religious activities and failing to follow Hindu rituals and customs.
The action was taken based on the directive of TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu. The affected employees were directly involved in temple rituals and practices. TTD stated that this decision reflects its commitment to preserving the spiritual sanctity of the temple.
Before their appointment, these employees had pledged to adhere to Hindu religious practices under the Endowments Act of 1989, Section 1060. However, as they were found to have engaged in activities contrary to their pledge, disciplinary action was initiated against them, TTD clarified.
TTD emphasized that employees engaging in activities against temple principles and Hindu beliefs undermine the sanctity of the sacred temple and hurt devotees' sentiments. As a result, the 18 employees will be removed from their current positions in TTD temples and associated departments. Additionally, they will be barred from participating in temple-related religious activities, according to the statement issued by TTD.
