After the tiger and the elephant, now the hawk; Aggressive black kite keeps the forest department on its toes in Nileshwar, Kasaragod.

The terror of a hawk after tiger and elephant attacks; Aggressive black kite keeps the forest department on edge in Nileshwar, Kasaragod.

Incidents of tiger and elephant attacks have already left an entire village in fear, making headlines on social media. Now, a black kite has become a nightmare for the locals. In Nileshwar, Kasaragod, even the forest department is struggling to deal with the bird's aggressive behavior. Though the department captured and released the bird into the wild, it returned, continuing its attacks on locals. So far, around 20 people have been attacked.

On January 26, the forest department captured the black kite from the area near SS Kalamandir in Nileshwar and released it in the Kottancheri forest near the Karnataka border. However, six days later, the bird returned, now accompanied by another kite. Apart from attacking people, it has even started snatching vehicle keys and flying away.

The forest department is now in a dilemma about what to do with the bird. It is believed to have been raised as a pet by someone in the area, who later released it when it became a nuisance. Now, it has turned into a menace for the entire community."
