India Seeks Details from the U.S. on Deportees
The Ministry of External Affairs has requested detailed information from the U.S. regarding undocumented immigrants being deported to India.

According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the U.S. has decided to deport 487 more individuals to India. However, out of these, details have been provided for only 298 people so far. India has requested information on the remaining individuals as well. The ministry has stated that the details of those being deported need to be verified before granting approval.

Previously, the deportation of undocumented immigrants from the U.S. to India in shackles had sparked widespread protests across the country. The issue is likely to be discussed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

In the first phase, the U.S. had deported 104 individuals, who were flown into Amritsar.
