BJP unable to make a decision on the new Chief Minister's position; President's rule may be imposed in Manipur.

Following Biren Singh's resignation, the possibility of President's rule in Manipur is increasing. If the BJP MLAs fail to reach a consensus on selecting a new Chief Minister, President's rule will be declared after the Parliament session.

After meeting with BJP MLAs today, Governor Ajay Kumar Balla will provide a detailed report to the central government. Future actions will be based on that report.

Senior Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh were considered for the position of Chief Minister. However, no decision has been made yet. The main issue is the inability to find a leader who has the support of all the MLAs in the ruling party. Therefore, a decision on this matter may be delayed. The state is likely to move towards President's rule.

BJP leader Sambit Patra, in charge of Manipur, and the state BJP president had a meeting with the Governor on Tuesday. Today, BJP MLAs are also meeting with the Governor. After that, the Governor will report to the central government. Further actions will be taken after studying the report. Currently, Biren Singh continues as the Chief Minister of Manipur.
