AAP Leader Arrested for Hiring Contract Killers to Murder Wife After Questioning Affair
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anokh Mittal from Ludhiana has been arrested for orchestrating the murder of his wife, Lipsi alias Manvi, using contract killers. Initially, Anokh claimed that his wife was killed during a robbery. However, after an investigation, police confirmed that it was a planned murder and that Anokh himself had hired the contract killers.
Police have arrested four contract killers, with one more suspect still at large.
On February 15, around midnight, Anokh told police that while returning home from a hotel after dinner, a gang of six robbers followed and attacked them, killing his wife. However, the investigation revealed that Anokh, who is also a businessman, had orchestrated the murder. As per his instructions, the killers blocked their car, attacked Manvi, and murdered her. To make it appear like a robbery, they also took her jewelry and drove away with the couple’s car.
The contract was executed for ₹2.5 lakh, with ₹50,000 paid in advance. The remaining ₹2 lakh was given to the killers after the murder.
The arrested suspects include Prateeksha, Amritpal Singh alias Blali, Gurdeep Singh, Sonu, and Sagardeep alias Teji. Police are still searching for Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, the remaining accused.
