An end to days of uncertainty. Rekha Gupta will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. The decision was made in a meeting of MLAs held in Delhi. She will be sworn in on Thursday, becoming the fourth female Chief Minister of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Ramlila Maidan. Rekha Gupta. currently serves as the National Vice President of the BJP Mahila Morcha.

She won from Shalimar Bagh, defeating Aam Aadmi Party’s Bandana Kumari by 29,000 votes. Parvesh Singh Verma has been chosen as the Deputy Chief Minister, while Vijender Gupta will be the Speaker. Parvesh is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma. In the 70-member Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP secured 48 seats, while the ruling AAP won 22. Once again, Congress failed to win any seats.

The BJP is returning to power in the national capital after more than two and a half decades. The new Delhi government will be sworn in at 11 AM tomorrow at Ramlila Maidan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states, as well as top NDA leaders, will attend the ceremony.
