National Women's Champion Powerlifter Yashtik Acharya Passes Away in Gym Training Accident

National women's champion powerlifter Yashtik Acharya has passed away following a tragic accident during training in the gym. A 270 kg weight fell on her, causing a fatal neck fracture. Though she was immediately rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed her death.

Yashtik Acharya was a weightlifter from the Acharya Chowk area in Bikaner. She was a national-level gold medalist. The accident occurred while she was training at a private gym near the Bada Ganesh Ji Temple. Yashtik had gained recognition after winning a gold medal in the Equipped category and a silver medal in the Classic category at the 33rd National Bench Press Championship held in Goa.

She had also won a gold medal at the 29th Rajasthan State Sub-Junior and Senior Men & Women Equipped Bench Press Championship, organized by the Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association. Following her tragic death, the Rajasthan Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
