A total of 149 liters of illicitly brewed liquor was seized from a private residence in Valiyamala, Nedumangad. Along with it, 39 liters of wine, explosives, and wild boar remains were also discovered. The Rural SP’s Special DANSOF team arrested Bhajanlal (32), a resident of Panachode, Valiyamala, in connection with the case. The raid was conducted at around 12 PM today.

The illicit liquor was hidden inside specially prepared compartments in Bhajanlal’s courtyard. The contraband was concealed in a pit near a spinach cultivation area in his backyard. The explosives were allegedly kept for hunting wild boars. Additionally, a large quantity of wine was also found, according to the police.

The Valiyamala police have taken the accused into custody for questioning. Since wild boar remains were found, the Forest Department will also conduct an investigation. Reports suggest that the illicit liquor was being sold to customers for prices ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000. The accused also reportedly delivered the liquor directly to buyers.
