Court Orders Case Against Wife in Punnapra Youth's Suicide Incident

The court has directed an investigation by registering a case against the wife in connection with the suicide of a young man in Punnapra. Rameeshad's father approached the court, requesting that a case be filed under charges of abetment to suicide against his daughter-in-law, her mother, and her male friend.

Rameeshad was found dead at his home on October 13. His father, Muhammad Raja, alleged that frequent disputes arose between Rameeshad and his wife, Sameena, due to her friendship with a man named Manoj. He claimed that this led to his son's suicide, stating that mental harassment drove him to take his own life.

Conflicts over Sameena’s relationship with her male friend had reportedly been ongoing for the past year. Based on Rameeshad’s father’s plea, the Ambalappuzha Judicial First Class Magistrate Court ordered an investigation into Sameena, her mother Nadeena, and her friend Manoj under charges of abetment to suicide.

The police confirmed that they would proceed with the case and take further legal action as per the court’s directive.
