Dispute Over Song at Wedding Ceremony Leads to Murder
A disagreement over a song played during a wedding ceremony escalated into a fatal incident, where the bride's relative shot and killed the groom's brother. The incident took place on Thursday night in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.

During the varmala (garland exchange) ceremony, an argument broke out between the groom's brother, Ashish Verma, and the bride's relative, Sumit Kumar, over the DJ’s choice of song. Family members initially intervened and settled the dispute, allowing the ceremony to continue. However, shortly afterward, gunshots were fired.

Sumit, along with two others, shot Ashish, who was critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting and stated that the incident occurred under the influence of alcohol. Following the tragedy, the wedding was called off, according to family sources.
