Pope Francis' health has deteriorated further, with his condition now extremely critical. A medical bulletin released by the hospital reported that his condition has worsened compared to yesterday. Due to respiratory distress related to asthma, he required high levels of oxygen support this morning.

“The Holy Father's condition remains serious. As stated yesterday, he has not yet overcome the critical phase. Today's blood tests revealed thrombocytopenia (a decrease in platelets) associated with dehydration. He remains under close observation,” the Vatican stated.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited Pope Francis recently, spoke with him, and wished him a speedy recovery.

The Pope was admitted to the hospital last Friday due to severe breathing difficulties. The 88-year-old Pontiff was hospitalized in Rome for treatment and examinations related to bronchitis. Earlier, the Vatican had confirmed that he was suffering from a severe lung infection. He has been diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs and is currently receiving antibiotic treatment. However, the Vatican had previously stated that there were signs of improvement in his lung infection.
