Couple Attacked for Refusing to Give Land for Temple Construction
Hindutva group members allegedly attacked a couple for refusing to give their land for temple construction. The victims, Aneesh and his wife Arya, residents of Malayankeezhu, were assaulted by a group led by Rajendran from Kazhakkoottam, according to the complaint.

Aneesh and Arya own 10 cents of land near the Karikkakam Pump House in Thiruvananthapuram. The attackers demanded that they hand over 3 cents for building a temple. However, the couple had never considered selling the land and stated that if needed, they would sell the entire 10 cents at market price, but not in parts. The group refused this offer and, the very next day, trespassed onto the property and placed a ritual lamp without permission.

On February 13, Aneesh filed a complaint at the Pettah police station, pointing out the illegal entry onto his land. A legal notice was also sent to the opposing party. However, disregarding this, the group once again trespassed and placed another ritual lamp.

When Aneesh and Arya visited the site to install a gate to prevent further trespassing, the attackers assaulted them. When the couple attempted to record a video as evidence, they were physically pushed and beaten. Following this, Pettah Police registered a case regarding the incident.
