Anganwadi Teacher and Helper Fight in Front of Children; Kids Left Scared and Traumatized
In a shocking incident, an Anganwadi teacher and a helper got into a physical fight, disregarding the presence of young children. The altercation left the kids terrified. The incident took place at Kaithakkad Anganwadi under Kadakkarapally Panchayat. The individuals involved were teacher Geetha and helper Sajini. The children, who witnessed the fight, were left in shock. It was the neighbors, alarmed by the commotion, who intervened and stopped the fight. Geetha has since been admitted to the hospital.

The dispute reportedly began over missing food supplies meant for the children at the Anganwadi. Geetha had raised complaints multiple times regarding the disappearance of food items. She had also informed the Kadakkarapally Gram Panchayat authorities on several occasions, but no action was taken.

On Friday, the argument between Geetha and Sajini escalated into a physical fight. During the altercation, Sajini allegedly grabbed and broke Geetha’s five-sovereign gold chain, causing injuries to her neck. Following the incident, Geetha was admitted to the Cherthala Taluk Hospital.

Panchayat President James Chinkuthara, along with other local representatives and ICDS officials, visited the Anganwadi to assess the situation. Until further investigation is completed, both individuals have been suspended from their duties.

Sajini had joined as a helper only six months ago, and her alleged assault on Geetha has sparked outrage among Anganwadi staff and community members. The Pattanakkad Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
