Uttarakhand Snowfall: 33 Workers Trapped Under Snow Rescued; Rescue Operations Ongoing

Rescue Operations Underway for 22 Workers Trapped in Uttarakhand Snowfall
Efforts are ongoing to rescue 22 workers still trapped after a massive snowfall in Uttarakhand. Out of the 55 road construction workers buried under the snow, 33 have been rescued so far. However, heavy snowfall is posing a significant challenge to the rescue operations.

The incident occurred near a Border Roads Organization (BRO) camp in Chamoli district, located along the India-China border region. The workers were engaged in construction activities when the avalanche struck. The snowfall happened in the village of Mana, beyond Badrinath, causing roadblock disruptions.

Earlier, on February 28, the Lahaul-Spiti Police had issued a warning notice about the possibility of snowfall. The notice urged tourists and locals to remain cautious. Additionally, authorities had also warned about heavy rainfall and potential flash floods in the region.
