During the 45-day Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a boat owner earned ₹30 crore!

A boat owner who provided services for visitors at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj earned ₹30 crore in just 45 days. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed this information. A family that owned 130 boats made ₹30 crore in 45 days, meaning each boat earned around ₹23 lakh. Specifically, boat owners were able to earn between ₹50,000 and ₹52,000 per day through the Maha Kumbh Mela. Yogi Adityanath disclosed this during the budget presentation in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

He highlighted how the Kumbh Mela impacted Uttar Pradesh’s economy, stating that the event contributed ₹3.5 lakh crore to the state's growth. The earnings were distributed across various sectors: ₹40,000 crore in the hotel and hospitality industries, ₹33,000 crore from food and essential goods, ₹1.5 lakh crore from transportation, ₹20,000 crore from religious offerings, ₹660 crore from donations, ₹300 crore from toll tax revenue, and ₹66,000 crore from other sectors.
