A case has been filed against the driver of late CPI leader P. Raju for allegedly giving a contract to kill. The case was registered for issuing a contract to murder the son of CPI district secretary Dinakaran.
Following the death of former Ernakulam CPI district secretary P. Raju, his driver and a relative allegedly hired assassins to kill Divin, who is the son of the current district secretary and a CPI district executive member. Based on the complaint, a non-bailable case has been registered against Dhanish, who was P. Raju's driver.
It is reported that Dinakaran, his son Divin, and some other CPI leaders had stayed away from P. Raju’s funeral. Following this, Divin alleged that an attempt was being made to attack him.
