After a US college student disappears in the Dominican Republic during spring break, new information comes to light.

Two police sources with knowledge of the inquiry told ABC News on Monday that the clothing of missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki was discovered on the beach in the Dominican Republic where officials believe she was last seen swimming.


According to the Loudoun County, Virginia, Sheriff's office, Konanki, 20, an Indian citizen and lawful permanent resident of the United States, disappeared early Thursday as she and a group of students were at a Punta Cana resort for spring break.

According to the sheriff's office, Konanki and one of her traveling companions were from Loudoun County.

According to the sources, Konanki's clothing was found near the shore where she vanished on a makeshift beach bed, ABC News reported. According to the sources, police have not discovered any signs of violence.

According to the reports, Konanki and a group of individuals went to the beach on Thursday at around 4 a.m. local time after attending a nightclub on Wednesday. According to the sources, the other women Konanki was traveling with returned to their hotel at approximately 5:55 a.m. and were seen on security footage making their way back to their rooms.
