Women’s Golf League Set to Begin

Aditi Ashok just missed the podium in Tokyo Olympics.Aditi (201)was three strokes behind the leader - USA's Nelly Korda (198) after three rounds.Though Aditi missed it  narrowly in  the final round, that she finished fourth, the entire nation talked about women's golf for a day atleast.

And,almost four years down the line,180 Golf, India’s first women-owned golf company, is all set  to launch the  Women’s Golf League - India’s first-ever premier golf league exclusively for women. The Women’s Golf League is structured as a series of tournaments featuring team play formats that will take place over three match days—March 13, 20, and 27, 2025, to be held in Bangalore Golf Club. The overwhelming response to the first edition has resulted in 90 registrations.

Women between 16 and 80 got registered.They have been divided between six teams. East West Elites , Gopalan Giants, Ramaiah Royals, Morado Mahilas, Raj Infra Green Legends and Sudarshan Strikers are the six teams competing in the inaugural edition.

Golfers from across India, mainly Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mysore and Madikeri along with a few Korean nationals, will be participate  highlighting the league’s growing appeal and international presence.

 180 Golf is  dedicated to elevating golf and making it more accessible. Recognizing the immense growth potential of the sport, four women sports enthusiasts, Tanisha Rohira,  Samrudhi Sujesh,  Anjali Attavar Santosh and  Hema Priya came together to establish 180 Golf with a shared vision  to organize premium tournaments, leagues, and international retreats, fostering a thriving community of women golfers, redefining India’s golf landscape with exceptional and inclusive golfing experiences.

The logo was released on Monday at Bangalore Golf Club.Dr Rashmi Ravikiran ,Chairperson,East West Group of Institutions was the chief guest.
