Do not refer to herself as A.R. Rahman's 'ex-wife'; they have not officially divorced, says Saira Banu in her plea.

"Do not call me 'ex-wife'," requests Saira Banu.

Saira Banu has requested through an audio message not to be referred to as the 'ex-wife' of A.R. Rahman.

On Sunday, March 16, Saira Banu released an audio message regarding Rahman's health. She said, "I wish him a speedy recovery. I received news that he experienced chest pain and underwent an angiography. By the grace of Allah, he is now doing well."

She continued, "I want to clarify to everyone that we have not officially divorced, and we are still husband and wife. For the past two years, I have been unwell, and I did not want to cause him additional stress. However, please do not refer to me as 'ex-wife.' We are only separated, but my prayers are always with him. I want to make a special request to everyone, especially to his family—please do not put too much pressure on him. Take good care of him. Thank you," Saira said.

A.R. Rahman was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai recently. After undergoing detailed medical examinations, he was discharged. According to a press release from Apollo Hospital, he was discharged around 12 p.m. following routine check-ups.
