Operation D-Hunt: 36.857 grams of MDMA, 6.975 kg of cannabis, and 148 cannabis-filled beedis seized; 212 people arrested yesterday.

As part of "Operation D-Hunt," a statewide special drive was conducted yesterday, during which 2,994 people suspected of being involved in drug trafficking were subjected to inspection. Police registered 203 cases for possession of various types of illegal drugs, and 212 individuals were arrested.

In these cases, the police seized dangerous drugs, including 36.857 grams of MDMA, 6.975 kg of cannabis, and 148 cannabis-filled beedis. The statewide operation on March 17, 2025, aimed to identify and take strict legal action against those involved in the storage and sale of illegal drugs.

Following the instructions of State Police Chief Dr. Sheikh Darvesh Sahib, the operation was carried out under the leadership of Manoj Abraham, head of the State Anti-Narcotics Task Force and ADGP of the Law and Order Department. The NDPS Coordination Cell, along with district police chiefs, also participated in the execution of the operation.
