Train derails in Odisha; 25 injured

Near Nergundi station, close to Cuttack in Odisha, 11 coaches of the Kamakhya Express train derailed, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to 25 others. The Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express was traveling from Bengaluru to Kamakhya station in Guwahati, Assam, when the derailment occurred. Authorities have confirmed that rescue operations are underway. The incident took place at around 11:45 AM.

Railway officials arrived at the scene immediately after the accident and initiated necessary measures. A medical team has also reached the site. The exact cause of the derailment is yet to be determined, and an investigation is in progress. The railway authorities have arranged a special train to transport the stranded passengers of the Kamakhya Express to Bhubaneswar.
