As opposition from Sangh Parivar groups and the ensuing controversy surrounding the Mohanlal-Prithviraj-Murali Gopy film Empuraan intensifies, producer Antony Perumbavoor has made a crucial announcement regarding the third installment of the franchise. He has confirmed, without any doubt, that there will be a continuation.
Speaking to the media in Kochi, Antony Perumbavoor assured that the "Lucifer" series will definitely have a third part. Lucifer was the first film in the franchise, followed by Empuraan. However, apart from confirming the third installment, the makers have not officially revealed its title or other details.
There were concerns about whether the third part would be shelved due to the ongoing controversies. However, Antony Perumbavoor made it clear that the previously planned third film will not be abandoned. He emphasized that the team will proceed as originally decided.
At the same time, he dismissed speculation that the re-editing of Empuraan was done due to external pressure. "We did what we felt was right. There is no need to turn it into a controversy. Mohanlal and the other key members were already aware of the film’s storyline. Prithviraj should not be singled out and attacked."
"We fully understand this film and made a collective decision to produce it. However, if there are any mistakes in our understanding, it is our responsibility to correct them. But that should not be perceived as a response to threats from anyone," Antony Perumbavoor clarified.
