The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at Gokulam institutions in Kozhikode. The search operations were carried out at the Gokulam Grand Corporate Office in Arayidathupalam and the Gokulam Grand Hotel. The ED team from the Kochi office arrived at the corporate office around 11:30 AM. Officers who reached the Gokulam Hotel in taxi vehicles later proceeded to inspect the Gokulam Mall as well.

The raid initially began at the corporate office of Gokulam Chits in Kodambakkam, Chennai, earlier this morning. According to sources, the searches were conducted as part of a follow-up investigation and evidence collection related to a case registered by the Income Tax Department.

However, the ED raid at Gokulam Gopalan's institution has sparked significant discussions, especially amid the controversy surrounding the Empuraan movie. Gokulam Gopalan, one of the film’s producers, stepped in as a last-minute financier when a dispute arose between Empuraan and Lyca Productions. Following the controversy, Gokulam Gopalan stated in some interviews that he had requested the removal of certain scenes from the film.
