An attack was reported on a Hindu place of worship in Toronto, Canada, with police actively searching for two individuals connected to the incident. The attack targeted the Shri Krishna Vrindavan Temple in the Greater Toronto Area, and Halton Regional Police have registered a case.
The incident took place in Georgetown around midnight on Sunday. CCTV footage suggests that the attack was carried out by two white male suspects who had exited a nearby pub before the incident. Authorities have released images of the suspects.
On Monday morning, devotees arriving at the temple discovered the attack and informed the police. Preliminary investigations led to the recovery of CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which helped identify the suspects. However, their names and other details have not yet been disclosed.
The Hindu Canadian Foundation issued a statement condemning the attack, attributing it to the growing influence of radical ideologies in the country. The organization expressed concerns that rising extremism in Canada is fueling hate crimes against the Hindu community.
