Producer Antony Perumbavoor receives notice from the Income Tax Department.

The notice has been issued in the context of the 2022 raid conducted at Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas. The department has asked for clarity regarding financial transactions related to two films — Lucifer and Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea.

The notice specifically seeks details about the remuneration of overseas actors involved in these two movies. It has also been clarified that actor Mohanlal received ₹2.5 crore in Dubai as part of this, according to the information gathered.

Recently, actor and director Prithviraj was also issued a notice by the Income Tax Department. The notice was sent seeking clarification regarding the remuneration he received for his previous films.

The department has asked for information related to the payment for the movies Kaduva, Jana Gana Mana, and Gold. Although Prithviraj did not receive payment as an actor in these films, it has been found that he received around ₹40 crore as a co-producer. Last year, the Income Tax Department had also conducted raids at Prithviraj’s offices and residence.
