The Christian community has expressed dissatisfaction with the police investigation into the recent attack on Christian priests in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The absence of the accused persons' names in the FIR has provoked the community, who allege that this was done to protect the perpetrators. The Church pointed out that the police had earlier claimed to have identified the attackers. Notably, the FIR was registered by the Madhya Pradesh police only four days after the incident.
However, no arrests have been made so far. In Jabalpur, a group of VHP and Bajrang Dal activists brutally assaulted Christian priests. The attack was carried out under the allegation of religious conversion against those attending the annual celebration at the Mandla church. Shocking visuals had emerged showing prominent Christian leader Father Davis and others being brutally assaulted even inside the police station.
