Seven people died in Madhya Pradesh after receiving treatment from a fake cardiologist.

Seven people have died in Madhya Pradesh after receiving treatment from a fake cardiologist at a private missionary hospital. The tragic incident took place at a Christian missionary hospital in Damoh city. The National Human Rights Commission has launched an investigation into the matter.

The accused had introduced himself as Dr. N. John Kem, a cardiologist from London, and had taken charge at the hospital under this false identity. However, during the investigation following a complaint, it was revealed that the name was fake and his real name is Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav.

Reports state that the fake doctor performed surgeries on 15 patients during the months of January and February, of which seven have died. The matter came to light after a local resident, Deepak Tiwari from Damoh, filed a complaint.

Priyank Kanoongo, a member of the National Human Rights Commission, stated that the hospital had also received funds under the government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme. "We received a complaint that a fake doctor had performed heart surgeries on patients at the missionary hospital. The hospital is associated with the Ayushman Bharat scheme and has received funds from the government. This is a serious allegation. We have brought it to the attention of the concerned authorities. An investigation is currently underway," Kanoongo explained.
