In Bengaluru, a woman was assaulted on the open street by mosque committee members: Incident reported based on a complaint by her husband.

In a shocking incident from Bengaluru, a woman named Shabeena Banu was brutally assaulted on a public road by a mob. The attack reportedly followed a complaint her husband, Jameel Ahmad, filed against her at a mosque. The incident was a result of a domestic dispute, after which the husband lodged a complaint against his 38-year-old wife.

The assault took place last week, but visuals of the incident surfaced only recently, prompting police action. Following the release of the footage, police registered a case and arrested six individuals involved in the assault. The arrested include Mohammad Niyas (32), Mohammad Gauspeer (45), Dastagir (24), Chand Bash (35), T.R. Rasool (42), and Inayat Ullah (51). Authorities have charged them with conspiracy, assault, and attempted murder.

The sequence of events began on April 7, when two relatives—Naseer and Fayas—visited Shabeena Banu at her home. Their visit reportedly angered her husband, who then went to the Jumma Masjid in Bengaluru and filed a complaint against his wife and the two men.

On April 9, all three were summoned to the mosque. When Shabeena arrived, six men allegedly ganged up and assaulted her brutally. The attack left her with injuries, and the case is now under police investigation
