Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has extended his support to KIIFB CEO K.M. Abraham and ADGP M.R. Ajithkumar. Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister stated that a decision would be taken as the legal proceedings against K.M. Abraham progress. He also confirmed that Abraham had submitted a letter regarding the matter.
Regarding the DGP's recommendation against ADGP M.R. Ajithkumar for allegedly providing false testimony, the Chief Minister said he was not aware of the details. The Kerala High Court had earlier ordered a CBI probe against K.M. Abraham in a case related to the accumulation of illegal assets. The court handed over the investigation to the CBI’s Kochi unit and directed the Vigilance Department to promptly transfer all related documents to the CBI team.
The High Court's order came in response to a petition filed by social activist Jomon Puthenpurackal. The DGP had recommended civil and criminal action after it was found that Ajithkumar’s statement linking P. Vijayan to the gold smuggling case was false.
