MP Hibi Eden extended wishes for a blessed Holy Week. In his post, he quoted a verse from the Gospel of Matthew: “Do not give what is holy to dogs; do not throw your pearls before pigs, or they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and attack you.”

This comes amidst widespread protests against Hibi’s stance on the Waqf Bill in Munambam. In a parliamentary discussion, Hibi Eden had alleged that the Waqf Bill is an attempt to deprive minorities of their rights. He remarked that for the BJP, Munambam is merely a political issue, but for him, it is a personal one.

He had questioned how the people of Munambam would get their land back through the Bill and accused the BJP of trying to alienate the Muslim and Christian communities in Kerala.
