Mother of four elopes with daughter's father-in-law; husband files complaint.

A woman, mother of four, allegedly eloped with her daughter's father-in-law, according to a complaint filed by her husband. The incident took place in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, where 43-year-old Mamta reportedly ran away with 46-year-old Shailendra, who is her daughter’s father-in-law. Mamta’s husband, Sunil Kumar, lodged the complaint with the police against Shailendra.

This comes shortly after another incident in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman from Aligarh eloped with her daughter’s fiancé.

Sunil Kumar, a truck driver, reportedly visits home only twice a month. In his complaint, he stated that Shailendra used to visit their home when he was away. Their son also revealed that whenever Shailendra came over, his mother would ask him to go into another room.

Mamta’s daughter got married in 2022. Sunil Kumar said he sent money home regularly even though he could only visit twice a month. He also alleged that Mamta left with jewelry and cash. Dhataganj Circle Officer K.K. Tiwari confirmed receipt of the complaint and stated that an investigation is underway.
