Incident of Indian student shot dead in Canada; bullet was stray, says Canadian police

The fatal shooting of Indian student Harsimrat Randhawa in Canada was not a planned attack, according to Canadian police. They report that the bullet that led to her death was a stray one.

The incident occurred in Hamilton, Ontario, while Harsimrat Randhawa was standing at a bus stop. She was a 21-year-old student at Mohawk College and hailed from Punjab, India.

Hamilton police stated that Randhawa was found shot in the chest when authorities arrived at the scene. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
