India strongly criticized Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack, accusing it at the United Nations of sponsoring cross-border terrorism and destabilizing the region, calling Pakistan a rogue nation.
India raised its criticism during the formation meeting of the UN’s Victims of Terrorism Support Network, which focuses on issues including the rehabilitation of terror victims.
India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Yojna Patel, condemned terrorism and criticized the Pakistani delegation for making baseless allegations and spreading propaganda against India.
Patel described India as a “victim of cross-border terrorism” and highlighted the open admission by Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif regarding the country’s historical support for terror groups. She noted that the world had heard Pakistan’s defence minister admit to supporting, training, and funding terrorist organizations, and that such an admission comes as no surprise.
Patel asserted that Pakistan is a “rogue state” that fuels global terrorism and destabilizes the region, and said the world can no longer turn a blind eye.
She also thanked the United Nations and the international community for standing in solidarity with India following the Pahalgam terror attack. India expressed gratitude for the strong support and solidarity extended by leaders and governments around the world in the aftermath of the attack. Patel added that this global support is a clear sign of the international community’s uncompromising stance against terrorism.
