India has made a firm decision, says S. Jaishankar; gives a clear response to the UN backing Pakistan.

India reaffirmed its strong stance before the UN, which appeared to side with Pakistan, stating that its decision is firm. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar conveyed India’s position in response to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Pakistan had approached the UN, claiming that it had received indications of an imminent Indian attack and sought intervention. Following this, Guterres spoke with Jaishankar.

Antonio Guterres condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and stressed the importance of bringing the perpetrators to justice through legal means. He also expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan and emphasized the need to avoid confrontations that could lead to disastrous consequences.

Welcoming the UN Secretary-General’s unequivocal condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and agreeing on the importance of accountability, Jaishankar asserted that India has made a firm decision to bring the attackers, planners, and their supporters to justice. He shared this message through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
