We won’t be intimidated by transnational threats: HAF vows to continue protecting Hindu Americans.

In response to a press release issued by the Fremont Gurdwara Sahib demanding that Attorney General Pam Bondi investigate the Hindu American Foundation (HAF) for alleged violation of the Foreign Agent Registration Act, HAF issues the following statement:

HAF condemns this latest dual loyalty smear and categorically rejects the ludicrous allegation that HAF coordinates its activities with the Government of India, or that it is in violation of FARA registration requirement, or any other relevant law.

HAF is a non-partisan, non-profit tax-exempt public charity pursuant to Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)3. HAF is a wholly independent, American organization. It has absolutely no affiliation or ties to any organizations or political parties in the US or abroad.

Almost 40 years to the day after terrorists seeking to create ‘Khalistan’, an ethno-nationalist theocratic state carved out of the territory of India, blew up Air India Flight 182 in the bloodiest terror attack in Canadian history; and at a time when pro-Khalistan activists are implicated in a variety of anti-Hindu hate crimes; and a Khalistan operative was arrested in Sacramento for conspiring to commit terror attacks in India just a few weeks ago, we can only assume that HAF, the oldest and most prominent Hindu American advocacy organization in the country, is being targeted with these lies for our track record of educating law enforcement about this transnational separatist movement and strong advocacy opposing it because its violence is harming the Hindu American community.

At the same time, this week, Rutgers University’s Center for Security, Race and Rights — which is under federal investigation for fomenting antisemitism and supporting terrorism — released a brochure following the same lines of attack alleging that HAF works in conjunction with Hindu nationalists groups in India to spread communal hatred. To promote these lies, CSRR is hosting a webinar featuring a Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) backed Islamist group, a self-described Radical Marxist, and a representative from an organization that has whitewashed the violence and substantively anti-Hindu aspects of the Khalistan movement.

Both of these most recent attacks targeting HAF are not new and likely not coincidental.

HAF’s record on education and civil rights advocacy is avowedly positive and our proactive work to protect Hindu Americans and promote pluralism speaks for itself. These coordinated campaigns against HAF are nothing but the latest in many attempts to silence HAF and undermine this critical work.

To discuss these dangerous and false accusations against us from activists supporting transnational violent separatist movements focused on India, HAF welcomes the opportunity to meet with Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, as well as all homeland security officials.

Of this we are very clear: HAF will not be silenced. HAF will not be dissuaded by harassment. This coordinated campaign of intimidation will fail.
